Defective Product and Products Liability

As a consumer, your safety should always come first unfortunately; some manufacturing companies see profit has a higher priority. A defective product injury could result from any of the following dangerous mistakes:
  • Defective rope or cable
  • flaws in a product's design.
  • a manufacturing mistake,
  • contamination of foods and/or materials used in a product,
  • failure to create adequate warnings for potential risks of a product.

Defective product claims may involve a long list of responsible parties or companies, but there are typically three different kinds of defective product cases:
  • manufacturing defect-a defect that occurs during the product's assembly process (e.g. a bolt that isn't tightened properly at the factory which results in the leg of a baby chair falling off easily)
  • design defect-a defect that inherently occurs in the beginning developmental stages of the product (e.g. a swimming pool with holes in the bottom or an air conditioner that blows hot air)
  • marketing defect-an improper warning to the consumer of a product's possible dangers (e.g. inadequate safety warnings or failing to include a comprehensive instruction manual)
