Pedestrian Accidents

Further, it was recently reported by the Illinois Department of Transportation that in 2008 there was a dramatic increase in pedestrian deaths in Chicago, rising to 56 in 2008.
However, you have right. State and local government has stepped up to protect pedestrians and their rights. In 2009, the City of Chicago passed new measures to increase fines for drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.
